Suzuki Baleno Wins Australia's Best Cars Award (694)

The Suzuki Baleno has been awarded 2016 Australia's Best Cars Award: Light Category.

Judged by the Australian Automobile Association, the Baleno GL competed against 12 other vehicles in its category and received the coveted Australia's Best Cars award.

Only launched in Australia in July 2016, the Baleno set out to redefine great value compact motoring with a car that has plenty of space and great styling all in which impressed the award judges.

"We are extremely proud that the Suzuki Baleno has been selected by such esteemed judges as Australia's best light car", said Andrew Moore, Suzuki Australia General Manager Automobiles.

The Baleno GL also adds standard tech equipment such as a reversing camera, satellite navigation and apple car play. In a category where budget is the main focus, "Suzuki's Baleno GL's value for money and extra cabin space gets it across the line ahead of some well-credentialed and very competent opposition in this category", the judges said.

Moore continued, "When developing the vehicle for Australia, we focused on it having a great array of standard spec for its class, with the inclusion of Satellite Navigation, reversing camera and Apple CarPlay, now in most Suzuki vehicles. Add this spec level to one of the most spacious cabin and cargo areas in the class, and the Baleno is a real winner".
