Subaru’s All-Wheel Drive Outback 2.5i Premium has been named Australia’s Best All-Wheel Drive Sports Utility Wagon under $50,000 by the nation’s motoring organisations, for the second consecutive year.
Outback continues Subaru’s remarkable run of success in the annual Australia’s Best Cars (ABC) awards.
Cars were evaluated by the NRMA, RACV, RACQ, RAASA, RACWA, RACT and AANT against a broad range of criteria including: value for money, design and function, and on- the-road performance.
Subaru Australia Managing Director, Colin Christie, said: “The motoring organisations are highly regarded for their independence and objectivity.
“Certainly, the ABC testing process puts the spotlight on the genuine practicality and ability of vehicles from a customer’s perspective, so we’re delighted to once again receive recognition for Outback.
“It is firmly established as the fun, flexible, family-friendly wagon and that’s reflected in record sales last year of 12,207, up 11.7%.
“Of course the inclusion of the EyeSight® driver assist system has added even more appeal for safety conscious customers and the inclusion of Vision Assist features like Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Change Assist, Auto dimming rear view mirror, High Beam Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert only add to its suite of safety features.”
Outback was regarded as the original crossover wagon when launched in 1996, establishing a whole new market niche.
It has gone on to be recognised several times with industry awards including:
